Marathons For Moms

Marathon Runners, you can support Relationships Under Construction. Just choose Relationships Under Construction as the organization to receive your donation.

Marathons for Moms is a fundraising effort from the Pregnancy Decision Health Centers located in Columbus, Ohio and offered to Relationships Under Construction. Relationships Under Construction is a relationship and marriage education program that many pregnancy centers offer to their clients and to students in public and private schools. Since 1998, abstinence programs in Ohio have seen a 36% drop in the teen birth rate and a 35% drop in the teen abortion rate which calculates to saving Ohio taxpayers over $300,000.00 each year.

Participants for the Marathons for Moms agree to make a good faith effort to raise $1310 for Relationships Under Construction by running a race of their choice and working on getting pledges. The suggestion is that if a participant can get 100 sponsors to pledge $1 for each mile of a half-marathon or $13.10, they will be able to raise the $1310.

Participants of Marathons for Moms receive a t-shirt to wear in their race, a water bottle, wristband, tote bag, and fundraising supplies. They are also given their own web page to assist in their fundraising efforts. Runners can form teams to help raise the $1310 if there is a group who feel they would not be able to complete a half-marathon or won't be able to raise the full amount on their own.

Whatever you do, get out there and run for life!

Pastor Frank Carl presented Catherine with the award. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Congressman Bob McEwen were guest speakers at Genoa's "God Bless America Weekend" event.
